Stanford Jazz Orchestra je največji jazz sestav Univerze Stanford, ene najbolj prestižnih univerz sveta, ki je med drugim zagnala projekt, ki ga danes poznamo pod imenom Silicon Valley. Med svoje diplomante šteje direktorje drugih prestižnih ameriških univerz, znanstvenike, igralke in igralce ter seveda glasbenike. Na festivalih in gostovanjih po svetu izvaja raznolik nabor sodobnih skladb in zimzelenih pesmi iz standardnega jazzovskega repertoarja. Sodeluje le z najimenitnejšimi gosti, kot so Jon Faddis, Louie Bellson, Bob Mintzer, Wycliffe Gordon, Ingrid Jensen, Jimmy Heath. Trenutno je orkester na evropski turneji s trobentačem Waynom Bergeronom, ki jih bo popeljala po Jazz festivalih in odrih Italije, Švice, Slovenije ter Avstrije.

Trobentač Wayne Bergeron je eden najbolj iskanih glasbenikov sveta. Studijska in filmska snemanja, mednarodne turneje, jazz koncerti, gostovanja in glasbene klinike ga ne okupirajo le v domačem Los Angelesu, temveč po vsem svetu. V ospredje glasbenega sveta je vstopil leta 1986, ko so ga sprejeli v skupino Maynarda Fergusona, s katero je posnel nekaj njenih večjih hitov. V podporni vlogi je sodeloval z velikimi imeni od Raya Charlesa do skupine Green Day. Slišati ga je mogoče na več kot 500 televizijskih in filmskih produkcijah, spremljal je podelitve Oskarjev, Zlatih globusov, nagrad SAG, Ameriškega idola, nagrade Emmy, Grammy, risanke Animaniacs Reboot, Family Guy, American Dad, Simpsonovi, nadaljevanke Will in Grace, King of the Hill, Buzz Lightyear, Hercules in mnoge druge. S samostojno skladbo ‘You Call This a Living?’ si je Bergeron prislužil nominacijo za Grammy v kategoriji najboljše skladbe za big band. Morda ga je še najbolje opisal dobitnik Grammyja, skladatelj in vodja big bandov Gordon Goodwin, ki je rekel, “Wayne je prva trobenta, na kakršno naletiš le enkrat v življenju.”

The Stanford Jazz Orchestra is the largest jazz ensemble of the University of Stanford, which is widely considered one of the most prestigious universities of the world and the initiator of the project known as Silicon Valley. Its notable alumni include several presidents of other notable universities, scientists, actors, and of course musicians. The orchestra performs a variety of contemporary and classic literature from the standard jazz repertoire at festivals at home and abroad and has featured various guest artists such as Jon Faddis, Louie Bellson, Bob Mintzer, Wycliffe Gordon, Ingrid Jensen, Jimmy Heath, and many others. The ensemble’s European tour, with trumpeter Wayne Bergeron will take them to Jazz Festivals and other events in Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia, and Austria.

Wayne Bergeron is one of the world’s most sought-after musicians. Studio sessions, film dates, international touring, jazz concerts, guest appearances, and clinics keep him busy not only in his hometown of Los Angeles but worldwide. Bergeron first came to prominence when he landed the lead trumpet chair with Maynard Ferguson’s band in 1986. As a sideman, Bergeron’s list of recording credits extends from Ray Charles to Green Day. Bergeron has worked on over 500 TV & motion picture soundtracks. His numerous TV credits include the Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, SAG Awards, NBC, ESPN & TNT sports themes, American Idol (2001-02), Emmy Awards, Grammy Awards, Animaniacs Reboot, Family Guy, American Dad, Simpson’s, Will and Grace, King of the Hill, Futurama, Buzz Lightyear, Hercules, to name but a few. Bergeron’s first solo effort, ‘You Call This a Living?’ received a Grammy nomination for Best Large Jazz Ensemble. Perhaps Grammy winning composer and bandleader, Gordon Goodwin said it best, when he said “Wayne is a once in a lifetime lead trumpet player.”
